Kielder Campsite - Located in the heart of Kielder

A rustic, three star, independent site. Situated in a remote and quiet part of Northumberland. Dark sky friendly with no mobile signal and lots of space to relax. Our site is available to like minded walkers, campers, motorbikes, camper vans, motorhomes and touring caravans.

We are open, this includes our ablutions.

We are currently remaining open. The latest Government restrictions do not infringe on our current Covid guidance on-site.  However, you must not meet people who do not live with you, or are not part of your support bubble, either indoors or outdoors.

Multiple tent pitches are not permitted, unless you are all from the same household.

Road Closure from Scotland [Travelling to/from Hawick] Dawston Bridge repairs will see the B6357 close at the bridge from 21 July for around 10 weeks. The structure was badly damaged by flooding in February. Repairs are part of a significant investment along the B6357.

 Due to unprecedented demand we are heavily booked with very little availability. If the booking site does not show a particular type of pitch e.g. hardstanding. Then there are none available for the date selected.

 Any previously postponed customers due to Covid, e-mail for availability. Ensure you quote your booking reference at all times.

Please note: we will only allow booked, fully paid visitors to our site once we open.

Latest Notice - Up to date important information about the site

Our on-site shop is not offering snacks or drinks. However we do have some store-cupboard items and camping equipment if required. We always have an arsenal of Midge repellant, head nets and citroenella candles available.

Dirty Reiver camping bookings from 2020 will automatically be transferred to the revised 2021 dates. Any correspondence that is really really really essential, via e-mail labelled "Dirty Reiver" please....we are currently fielding a lot of's just the one of us.....that's a sympathy call by the way!

We will be open from July 4th. Ablutions available, however if you have your own facilities on board we respectfully ask you to use these instead of overloading our ablutions. This will be a high risk area....minimum usage please.
WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT NON BOOKED GUESTS. Our gates will be closed out of hours.

IMPORTANT PLANNING UPDATE: THE ANGLERS ARMS WILL NOT BE OPENING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Please bring your own tipple. We ask all visitors to respect both the site and your fellow campers.
Bike hire available, no cafe service in the Castle, no shops in the area. Nearest Shops: Bellingham or Newcastleton.
Fuel available from our self service chip and pin fuel station. [No other services on the site.]
Ralf our Heritage woodturner will be available next to the fuel pumps for craft purchases only. No other produce held or sold in his workshop....he's asked me to other produce held or sold in his workshop

Kielder Star Party 2020

Stargazing for beginners at Kielder Camp Site. An informal two night event where, weather permitting, you can observe the stars. October 9th & 10th 2020. Booking essential via our events page booking system on this page only. Please add the astronomers fee to your booking. Without it, any booking is not valid.

Please bring face coverings. We have sanitising fluid and wipes for the duration of the event for your safety. Social distancing with no more than 6 persons visiting in a group.
