URGENT INFORMATION - ROAD CLOSURE AFFECTING YOUR ARRIVAL OR DEPARTURE. PLEASE TAKE NOTE.
There is a total road closure on the approach to Kielder if approaching from BELLINGHAM OR HEXHAM. You will need to take a detour well in advance of the closure. If not you will be inconvenienced far more than you need be. Guests travelling along the M6 or entering via Scotland this will not affect your arrival.

The diversion needs to be addressed prior to setting off, see the recommended route below via Google Maps. To access the route open google maps, then copy and paste the link into your address bar. [If using a computer or laptop]

If you are approaching along the M6, there are no issues [North or South approaching] The recommended route is to turn off at J44, head towards the A7 signposted ![]()
This diversion may add considerable time to your journey so ensure you plan ahead. We have started our route from Hexham, you may need to do a little more research if your journey is any different. Wherever you travel from you must enter Kielder via the North....Scotland.

Kielder Tavern is open Thursday through to Monday evening. Midday through to 11.00pm [Subject to customer footfall] The Tavern is temporarily without a chef, therefore unable to offer meals. The pub is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kielder General Store opens on a Thursday through to a Sunday. They do not have long opening hours, make yourself aware of their opening times. FB page link below. KIELDER GENERAL STORE IS CLOSED MONDAY THROUGH TO WEDNESDAY. Please plan accordingly.

We no longer allow open fires on site. This includes fire-bowls and is non negotiable. We have BBQ stands dotted around the site which are perfect for disposable BBQ’s or putting your own charcoal in. Camping gas stoves are fine.

Some of our local wildlife pictured can prowl and pilfer at night, we strongly advise guests not to leave certain items outside overnight. particularly food, shoes and bags. [No need to remove large non edible items such as chairs.....to date we know that the badger set or foxes lair can't get furniture inside] We'll update should planning permission be sought.
