You could do nothing. This place is pretty good for busy people. Visitors usually “on the go” can just kick back and do nowt. Not a cheap day out, but well worth it! Take a full day, ensure you leave the site with plenty of time to travel and visit.

IF YOU ARE VISITING THE OBSERVATORY DURING YOUR STAY PLEASE INFORM THE SITE MANAGER. THIS ALLOWS HIM TO PASS ON OUR SITE PROCEDURE FOR LATE DEPARTURES TO THE OBSERVATORY AND FOR LATE RETURNS INFORMATION.
It will take you 20 minutes to drive from site to the observatory car park.

The South Shore of Kielder Reservoir. This shared trail runs parallel to the road as well as the reservoir. It finishes at Kielder Dam, you can travel to Falstone Village and sample it's rustic delights or continue along the North Shore back to Kielder, visiting Art and Architecture along the way.

Stargazing for beginners at Kielder Camp Site. An informal two night event where, weather permitting, you can observe the stars. October 9th & 10th 2020. Booking essential via our events page booking system on this page only. Please add the astronomers fee to your booking. Without it, any booking is not valid.
Please bring face coverings. We have sanitising fluid and wipes for the duration of the event for your safety. Social distancing with no more than 6 persons visiting in a group.
